REAL-WORLD PERFORMANCE — UP TO 16× FASTER!
CrazyCopy has been benchmarked against Windows Explorer on three different PCs, using PCIe Gen 5, PCIe Gen 4, and SATA SSDs, as well as conventional mechanical hard drives.
In our fastest recorded test, CrazyCopy completed a PCIe Gen 4 SSD folder-copying workload in just 20.6 seconds, compared with 320.6 seconds using Windows Explorer — a 15.6× speed improvement and a 93.6% reduction in elapsed time.
Transfers between separate internal SSDs achieved speed improvements of up to 13.3×, while a lower-specification SATA SSD system achieved a 2.23× improvement.
CrazyCopy’s configurable multithreading allows users to optimise performance for different storage devices, with 8 worker threads providing a good balance of performance and resource usage on our higher-performance test PCs.
Performance improvements depend on hardware, storage technology, file characteristics and transfer direction. Mechanical hard drives and some USB storage devices may show limited benefits from multithreading.
